HOGS (Happy Old Guys Serving)

We appreciate the work of the HOGS (Happy Old Guys Serving). These men show up every Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. or earlier to mow the lawn, edge, weed, and trim bushes. They help James Clem, our Facilities Maintenance Manager, with general clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed. They keep our grounds looking great throughout the year. LCMS Youth Gathering

Good Shepherd will be sending 14 youth and 4 adult leaders to the National Youth Gathering this coming July 11-15 in Minneapolis, MN. During the five days of the Gathering, our youth will spend time together in God’s word, worship, service, and fellowship with over 30,000 others from across the synod.

In Memory of Patricia Yvonne Teinert

Patricia Yvonne Teinert, 71, of Georgetown went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 11, 2019.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in the Stateroom of Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cedar Park, Texas.

National Youth Gathering Garage Sale

The youth will hold a garage sale to raise some funds still needed to attend the National Youth Gathering. Clean out your closets, garages, and sheds this weekend and bring donations to the Worship Center Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Board of Directors Election Results

Three church members were elected to the Board of Directors (BOD) last Sunday, June 2, 2019. Elected to three-year terms are: Mark Minick, Jim Sweeney and Nick Bullock. Each year when we elect members to the BOD, there are those who may be rotating off the Board and who choose not to re-run for the BOD.

2019 High School Graduates

We will recognize our graduates through a picture slide show on Sunday, June 2 at the 10:30 a.m. worship. Parents of high school seniors, if you have not already done so, please email to pastoralcare@gstx.org the graduate’s name, high school, and date of graduation along with 3 pictures (baby, senior, and one in between) no later than Tuesday, May 28 to have pictures in slide show for June 2.

Kairos Ferguson 67

Kairos Ferguson 67 is a prison ministry weekend course in basic Christianity set for June 26-30 at the Ferguson Unit in Midway, TX. In preparation we will be baking 500 dozen cookies on Saturday, June 8 in our church kitchen from 8 am – 8 pm. (We typically finish earlier.) Come all day or for part of the day; come with your children or come alone. Help us bake some love into these cookies.

d3 Programming

May 26 is the last day for d3 Sunday School programming and May 29 is the last day for Wednesday programs before groups take a summer break. Join us on Wednesday, May 29 at 5:30 p.m. for hot dogs and burgers before the d3 programs at 6:30 p.m. A donation amount will be suggested to help defray costs.
