Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. – Ecclesiastes 4:12
Good Shepherd Leadership Strategy
The leadership team at GSLC is known as the Cord of 3. A rope has strength when three cords are bound together. As three cords strengthen a rope, our Cord of 3 strengthens our congregation. The cords are: Staff Leadership, Board of Directors, and Elders.
The Staff Leadership coordinates the ministry of the congregation and oversees the day to day operation of the church.
The Board of Directors is comprised of GSLC members who are elected to oversee the policy governance model of our church and represent church members on business matters.
The Elders, appointed by the Senior Pastor, oversee the spiritual welfare of the church, its members, and appointed leaders.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s 2KF Ministry Model is based on the premise that there are two kinds of functions (2KF) within the church: pastoral and operational. Pastoral functions include preaching, teaching, leading, visiting, equipping, and administering the sacraments Operational functions include management of staff, finances and facility. While the Senior Pastor is responsible for oversight of both functions, he delegates the managing of the operational functions of both the church and the school to the Congregation Operations Manager.
