Watch Good Shepherd Online:
Hello and welcome! I am so glad you’re here! My name is Seth Illich and I serve at Good Shepherd as the Director of Christian Education. I love the mission and ministry of the church. My passions and skills lend themselves to the educational and experiential side of church ministries, so I chased after a vocation that allows me to serve in that way.
Much like Pastor Steven, my life growing up revolved around athletics. I have always been a big guy. So, my first sport was basketball. But, I also got into soccer, track and field, baseball, and eventually fell in love with football. I started playing football as a sophomore in High School and started every game that year at right tackle. I continued to play through college and during my playing time, spent time at every position on the offensive line.
Eventually my desire to play football and study to be involved in ministry led me to Concordia University in Chicago, IL. In 2012, I graduated from Concordia with my BA in Education w/ a DCE Certification and a Minor in Theology. After a year-long internship, I graduated and was called to serve at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City, IA.
In 2015 I walked through some major life changes. In May, I married my lovely wife, Emily. Then, in June, we started at a new Call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kettering, OH. All along the way, my family has continued to be blessed, in 2016 we welcomed our daughter Sofia, and in 2019, our son Sullivan was born.
Whether at church or in my personal life, I am the type of person who seeks out new experiences. I love to be outdoors; shooting, archery, hiking, biking, boating, swimming, I just love being in God’s creation. More and more, I like to get to share those experiences with others who might not get to do it themselves.
In day-to-day life just as in ministry, we get to walk this together and I am so excited to be a part of life here in Cedar Park and especially at Good Shepherd.
Dear Good Shepherd Family,
At Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, we take the personal health and wellness of our members very seriously. You may have some growing concerns about the Coronavirus (COVD-19), and we wanted to put your mind at ease by making you aware of the precautionary steps we are taking as a church:
