WHAT WE BELIEVE

God's love for you is never-ending. Here at Good Shepherd, we are a community of ordinary people who join together to share the extraordinary love of Jesus with the world. We value everyone and believe the Bible’s message is true. Once you hear this message, we know it will make a difference in your life because Jesus has made an overwhelming difference in ours. Our wish is for you to explore how much God loves you and to find His purpose in your life!

OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE

Every day, we get the incredible opportunity of impacting the world with the love of Jesus as we make disciples who make disciples who make disciples.  We are saved by grace through Jesus and have been equipped with this calling of knowing and showing this love to the world around us. With God’s help, we encourage each other along the way, reaching out to others with His love and compassion. He invites all of us, including you, to join Him on this journey of faith.

OUR BELIEFS

WHAT IS THE LCMS?

Good Shepherd belongs to the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS).

The LCMS accepts the Bible as being the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We are called “Lutheran” because God worked through the man, Martin Luther, to inspire the reformation of the Christian church in the 16th century. His teachings were based solely on the Word of God. The same is true for all we preach and teach. The teachings of Luther, and our teachings today, can be best summarized in these three phrases.

GRACE ALONE

We are committed to trusting the Bible as the inspired Word of God and the sole source and authority for our Christian faith and life.

FAITH ALONE

We are committed to trusting that, by the grace of God alone, He sent His Son, Jesus, to love and to save the people of the world.

SCRIPTURE ALONE

We are committed to trusting that saving faith in Jesus is a gift from God and gives all who believe in Jesus as their Savior forgiveness and eternal life.

COMMUNION & BAPTISM

HOLY COMMUNION

Every day we eat and drink to nourish our bodies. Jesus gave us Holy Communion to nourish our souls. We believe that Jesus’ body and blood are present in the eating and drinking of the bread and wine and that through this act, we receive forgiveness of sins. God invites all followers of Jesus to take communion often. At Good Shepherd, we celebrate communion on the first and third Sundays of each month.  If you have been baptized and have received biblical instruction about Holy Communion, we invite you to participate. BAPTISM

Baptism is a wonderful gift from God where He connects water with His Word and changes hearts and lives by connecting them to their Savior, Jesus. We believe baptism is something God does for us, not something we do for God.
